Please book your hotel rooms as soon as possible, especially since it is a holiday weekend!

We have reserved hotel rooms on Long Island close to the synagogue where the wedding will be held for Saturday and Sunday nights (September 1st and 2nd). Friday night, we plan to have services, dinner, and a musical jam/coffeehouse in Manhattan, so if you would like to attend that, plan to be in Manhattan on Friday night. Please note that no rooms will be available at these discounted rates after July 31st. Again, we encourage you to call to make reservations as soon as possible.

Rental Cars

While we are working for the day when towns are planned more sustainably and easier to get around on public transportation, bicycle, or foot, it is unfortunately difficult to get around the Smithtown area without a car. The hotels do provide transportation from MacArthur (Islip) airport and the local train stations, and we will be assuring van service on the day of the wedding, so it is up to you whether or not you want to rent a car. We hope that you will utilize the rental/ride share board to lower our environmental impact on this joyous occasion.

Here is one idea for a rental car company. They have several pick-up and drop-off points on Long Island, including JFK, LaGuardia, and one in Hauppauge, which is very close to the hotels and wedding location. It would be possible to stay in Manhattan Friday night without a car, then take the train out to Long Island on Saturday and pick up a rental car for Saturday and Sunday at a location that is both close to the train station and close to the hotels.

Train Information

If you are coming out to the wedding from New York City, take the Long Island Rail Road (the Port Jefferson Branch) to the Smithtown stop. You may have to transfer at Huntington or Jamaica. The synagogue is a brief cab ride away from the station. On the day of the wedding, we hope to have van service from the train station to the synagogue. Please check back closer to the wedding date for more information on transport to and from the train.
